Archive project starts

With the blessings of Allah, the Archive project started in the beginning of January. Two professors, Dr. Gerdien Jonker and Prof. Razaq Khan, started working in the Imam House cellar. They have started preparing a catalogue of all books, magazines, pamphlets, etc. present in theMssion House and Mosque. Prof. Razaq Khan is cataloging Urdu literature and Prof. Dr. Gerdien Jonker is doing German and other literature. They will come on every Thursday and work the whole day. We hope to find some historic material as well. Shown below are the images of a two-page appeal by Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ali made in 1924 with his signature:


Participation in Collected Peace Prayer

On 19th January I was invited by the Church to participate in a collected peace prayer held in Berlin Dome. It was a very nice and unique spiritual experience.

Visit by multi-countries group

On 25th January a group comprising of people from various countries visited the Mosque. After a presentation, a question-answer session lasted for two and half hours. Shown below is a member of this group with the Imam, Amir Aziz.


School visit

On 28th January a group of students from Johann Julius Hecker High School from Berlin with their teachers visited the Mosque. They had a project to visit the Mosque and make notes of all important things relating to it. After the presentation they asked questions and completed their project. The teachers were presented with a copy of the German translation of the Holy Quran.


Visit by Seamen

On 29th January a large group of seamen visited the Mosque under the guidance of Architect Mr. Nitsckhe. I welcomed the group and narrated the history and purpose of the Mosque. Later on the Architect explained the last two phases of renovation and also future projects. Participants asked a lot of questions. Pamphlets were distributed to all.


Visit of Paramedical Group

On 30th January a group of JhBG Vivantes college visited the Mosque. It was group of young trainee male and female nursing staff. They were very much interested to know Islamic teachings about their profession. After a presentation, a long question-answer session was conducted. Their group leader was presented with a copy of the German Holy Quran.


Workshop in the Mosque

On 31st January a workshop about Migration and Refugees was organized in the Mosque by Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Müller of Berlin School of Sustainable Future, University of Applied Sciences. Scholars from Bremen and Hamburg and Berlin participated in the workshop. In charge of the workshop Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Müller introduced me and asked me to give presentation about the Mosque and Islam. Later on the workshop continued till 2:00 pm.

Top
